Do you know how to ski or snowboard? Kindergarten, first, and second graders at Columbine now know how! Students recently participated in the Shredder Ski & Snowboard Mountain Experience that taught them the basics of the equipment, the correct form, and gave them the opportunity to practice the athletic skills they need for each sport. Students rotated through stations to try out the artificial ski and snowboard slopes, as well as practicing their balancing and gross motor skills with dry land skiing and snowboard activities. Shredder Instructors also helped students build their confidence, risk-taking, and perseverance, which will help them in athletics and in the classroom.
