Pictures from Trunk or Treat 2024
Dear Cougar Family-
We hope you enjoyed some of the fall celebrations in October! It was so much fun seeing the kids at Trunk or Treat and participating in our Spirit Week. This month, we also got to watch our first and second graders perform in Celebrate the Beat dance! There are loads of pictures of awesome pictures shared through our social media pages which we hope you’ll visit (links at the end of this newsletter and on our website).
November marks the start of a new trimester, and student report cards for Trimester One will be available on Infinite Campus starting November 8th.
Please note there will be a late start on Wednesday, November 6th, with school beginning at 11 a.m. That same day, we have a fundraiser at Sweet Cow. It’s a great chance to treat your family to ice cream while supporting Columbine!
Thanksgiving break will be from Monday, November 25th, through Friday, November 29th, with no school during that time.
As the weather cools down, we encourage you to send students with closed-toe shoes and jackets to keep them warm. Stay cozy and enjoy the changing season!
Respectfully,
Julia Cooper, Principal

Staff Spotlight: First and Second Grades
STEM Focus
Columbine Elementary is a STEM focus school. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We know that the world is changing faster than it ever has due to discovery of new science technology and its applications.
Here at Columbine, we are preparing students for a future where innovation, communication, collaboration, global competency, critical thinking, and problem solving will be essential.
This month in STEM, our students got to make Monster Traps! Our third graders have been incredible mentors for our K/1/2 friends! Our fourth grade students got to practice playing with Ozobots and practice using color patterns to code them. They also helped our K/1 on ozobots.
Meanwhile, our six Robotics teams have been busy building, programming, and teaching each other how to improve designs.
St. Vrain’s Thanksgiving Break Reading Challenge: Nov. 22-Dec. 2
