Bio

I’m Luis Montes, and I’ve had the honor of serving as the Family Liaison at Columbine Elementary for the past five years, while bringing over 21 years of experience in the St. Vrain Valley School District. Originally from Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, I moved to the U.S. in 1998 and hold a bachelor’s degree in Education.

My passion is building bridges between school and home, ensuring that every family feels welcomed, supported, and empowered. At Columbine, I help organize family engagement events such as Cafecitos, cultural celebrations, parent English classes, and community partnerships with local businesses. What I treasure most is the unity that exists between families, staff, and students — we are truly a family.

Outside of work, my greatest joy is spending time with my son and loved ones. I enjoy traveling and exploring new cities with my family, learning about other cultures, and visiting Mexico whenever I can. Family will always be my foundation — both my own and my Columbine family. I am proud to be part of this amazing community and to contribute to the success and well-being of our students. Go Cougars!
