This week we enjoyed one of our school’s special traditions– our annual Thanksgiving Lunch! Students enjoyed classic Thanksgiving foods at family-style tables with festive decorations all around the cafeteria. This is always an exciting event for our students, and we say a big THANK YOU to everyone who makes it happen!
We had another great Cafecito on Friday! Student leaders showcased how technology extends learning beyond paper and taught parents about accessibility features as part of this month’s Cafecito!

Field trips are such a great learning opportunity for students. Last week our fifth graders were able to go on a field trip to see the Boulder Philharmonic! Our students enjoyed this special Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra science and space focus concert.
Our school’s annual Halloween parade was this morning! With costumes, bubbles, music and lots of smiles, this was a blast for students, staff and families who came to watch.
Ms. Schafer’s 5th grade class has held the Golden Cougar during the month of October for following our school pledge and setting great examples of responsibility, respect, rigor, being safe, and being caring. Which class will win the Gold Cougar for the next month? We’ll find out soon!
Let’s Celebrate the Beat! Our first, second and third graders have been practicing healthy dance moves for the past few weeks to get ready for this performance. To help support the first graders while they build their literacy skills, third, fourth and fifth graders illustrated decodable texts for the first graders with support from Mrs. Christoffersen. The third through fifth graders even added labels to their drawings to support the first graders as they are learning about adding labels into their drawings!
Technology in action in the classroom! Our second grade students are using Freeform on their iPads. They were able to use Freeform to create thinking maps as they analyzed information from the text.
