Notice of Vacant School District Director Position: Accepting Applications for Director District E
Effective November 7, 2023, Board of Education Director District E shall be vacant. Letters of interest and resumes for this District Board seat are being accepted from Friday, October 13, 2023 to 4:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2023, and should be returned to the office of Kristie Jonason, Executive Administrative Assistant to the Board of Education, 303-682-7205, Educational Services Center, 395 South Pratt Parkway, Longmont, Colorado, 80501. Letters should indicate the relevant skills and qualifications, and public sector or school district experiences, and any qualities that the applicant feels are important for a Board member to have, as well as a statement of why the applicant wants to serve on the Board. Qualification of Candidate for School District Director:
Any candidate for the office of school director shall be a registered elector and a resident of the school district for at least twelve consecutive months before the appointment, a resident of Director District E for the past 32 days, 18 years of age, and a United States citizen. Any person who has been convicted of commission of a sexual offense against a child shall not be eligible.
This appointment will serve on the Board of Education until the next Coordinated Election in November of 2025.
Director Districts:
The St. Vrain Valley School District RE-1J has seven director districts. Director District E serves the North Central Longmont portion of the District which includes Central Elementary, Eagle Crest Elementary, Blue Mountain Elementary, Altona Middle School, Silver Creek High School, St. Vrain Community Montessori, Rocky Mountain Elementary, Main Street School, Twin Peaks Classical Academy, and Columbine Elementary. Director District E generally comprises central Longmont, between North 75th Street on the west, County Line Road 1 on the east, and north of Clover Basin Drive, Ken Pratt Boulevard to 9th Avenue. Includes portions of southwest Longmont, Central Longmont, Historic East Side and West Side Neighborhoods and Stony Ridge Neighborhood.
