Columbine News: August 15, 2025

Dear Cougar Family-

Thank you for such a smooth start to the school year. Our kinder through fifth graders are back on campus with our youngest students in preschool starting on Monday. If you know anyone who hasn’t yet registered for preschool or kindergarten, please share our office number with them so we can help them to do so! (303-776-2840)

Please remember that we have FREE breakfast available for ALL students from 8:00-8:30 each morning. If your child will be joining us for breakfast, please have them enter through the front office doors (off Longs Peak Ave). If a student is tardy, they have until 9:00 to go through the office and receive a grab-n-go breakfast. We do also provide FREE lunch every day. We kindly ask that you send your child to school with a snack, as many students get hungry in the late afternoon.

Starting Monday, August 18th at 8:20am: All preschool students, as well as kindergarten and 1st grade students who are not having breakfast, will enter the school through the 6th St gate and walk across the kinder playground to enter the school at the preschool and kinder doors. Grades 2-3 who are not having breakfast, will enter the school through the blacktop in the back of the school (they can be dropped off at Baker St or 6th St.). Grades 4-5 who are not having breakfast, will enter the school through the Baker St. doors. All students should be picked up at the end of the day at the doors above (PreK-1 Pre/K doors, 2-3 blacktop, 4-5 Baker St).

If at any time you would like information to assist you with particular parenting conversations or additional support of your child, please contact our counselor.

Again, we are all thrilled to welcome students back for another successful school year. Thank you for entrusting your child with us. We are honored to have them.

Respectfully,

Julia Cooper, Principal

Registration for the 25-26 School Year

If you will have a preschooler, kindergartner, or will be open enrolling at Columbine for the 2025-2026 school year, you will need to complete an enrollment application online. Please contact the Main Office if you have any questions.

***It is important to complete your child’s immunization paperwork and to turn this form in to the office. The state requires that schools have this completed paperwork on file for each student.***

Reminders for Families

  • Please remind your students they are not allowed to use electronic devices to call you during school hours. We would like them to come to the office to call parents, if necessary. This will help us to provide the right amount of support for your student. All cell phones need to be kept off or on silent during school hours and be in their backpacks.
  • If at any time you need to get a hold of your student, please call the front office and we will contact your student during school hours.
  • If you are picking up your student during school hours, you must present a photo ID. Please remember to report your child’s absence or tardiness to 303-776-2840 or email: floresmiranda_ana @svvsd.org
  • Our office staff is always available to answer your questions- 303-776-2840
