About Ms. Schafer:
I was born and raised in a rural town in Ohio. In my high school experiences, I was involved in many after school events that supported a wide range of interests around sports, music, band and theater. I went on to pursue and received my bachelor’s degree in Indiana. I started my first years of teaching in California and achieved a master’s degree there as well. During my master’s classes, I enjoyed being able to go to school at night and apply my learning in the classroom during the day. I have taught for quite a few years at different schools and grade levels from kindergarten through eighth grade. I have enjoyed every experience. I am currently delighted to be teaching fifth grade here at Columbine Elementary School. My skills and knowledge have grown with each year that I teach. I love teaching and learning. It is my hope to inspire a zest for learning in my students. I hope to help the students that I teach by supporting them to be successful in all academic areas and as lifelong learners. I strive to come alongside my students and their families to support them and encourage them. It is such a joy to see students meet high expectations, gain self-confidence in their own skills and abilities and see their own successes.
