Preschool

Columbine Cougars who are 3 and 4 years old can enroll in our preschool program, which emphasizes kindergarten readiness through high-quality early childhood experiences in safe, supportive, and stimulating environments. Classrooms meet quality standards, state licensing requirements, and maintain low adult-to-child ratios. Students must be 3 or 4 years old on or before October 1 to enroll.

The preschool program at Columbine focuses on academic, social, and emotional growth, integrating literacy tools like Fundations and social-emotional learning through PATHS, where students build skills in managing emotions and forming friendships. Activities like the Special Olympics Young Athletes and the Boulder County Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE) Program enrich learning with lessons in kindness, inclusion, and healthy living.

Parent involvement is a key focus, with regular communication, family events, and conferences fostering collaboration. Celebrating diversity, the program creates a welcoming environment where all children and families feel valued.

Columbine’s preschool inspires curiosity, independence, and a love of learning, setting young learners on a path to success.
