Columbine News: May 2026

May 2026

Dear Columbine Families,

It’s hard to believe we have reached the final month of the school year! May is a time to celebrate all the learning, growth, and accomplishments our students have achieved this year. Thank you for being such an important part of our Columbine community. Your support, encouragement, and partnership have helped our Cougars thrive.

Looking Back on April

April was filled with focus and perseverance as our students in grades 3–5 worked hard during CMAS testing. We are proud of the effort and determination they showed each day. We also enjoyed connecting with families at Cafecito and celebrating our incredible educators during the Teacher of Excellence Event. Behind the scenes, our Instructional Leadership Team began important planning for next year, and staff continued to grow their instructional practices during Apple coaching and professional development.

Spring Weather Reminders
As the weather warms up, please remind your child to bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing for outdoor activities. Also, as it gets warmer, we know clothes tend to get smaller. Please remember that per the SVVSD dress code, clothing must cover traditionally private parts of the body including, but not limited to, the stomach, buttocks, back, and chest.

Lost and Found
Please be sure to check our lost and found before the end of the school year. Any unclaimed items will be donated after the last day of school.

As we wrap up the year, we want to thank our students, staff, and families for making Columbine such a special place. It has been a year full of learning, kindness, and Cougar pride. We look forward to finishing strong and celebrating all that our students have accomplished.

With Cougar Pride,

Julia Cooper

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.
